The development of apprentice (vocational) education in Croatia

Abstract

At the beginning of the article the apprenticeship till the founding of the apprentice (vocational) schools in Croatia is described, as well as the founding of the apprentice (vocational) schools. Later on, the author follows the development of vocational education through the historical development, from the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy until the establishing of the Republic of Croatia, by describing the conditions and changes connected to the curriculum and the organization of school activities, the name of the school, students (apprentices, trainees), teachers, the financing of the school and the apprenticeship with the tradesmen.
