Abstract

This paper proves the fact of establishment of modern school system in Civil Croatia, especially in the second part of eighteen fi fties, by means of an analysis of unpublished historical sources from the Ivanec County District holdings in the State Archives Varaždin and relevant literature. Intensifi ed concern for school conditions during the neoabsolutism also appeared in local districts such as Ivanec county.
