Legacy of Vladimir Poljak, ph. d. in the Archives Collection of the Croatian School Museum

Sažetak
The Croatian School Museum obtained a valuable donation in 1999 from the famous pedagogue Vladimir Poljak, Ph. D. donated from his wife Ilsa, son Željko and daughter Višnja, and upon the wish by doctor Poljak. The manuscripts left in the legacy contained different archival material and personal library, and were logged into Croatian School Museum entrance records under the number 24105. Library material was separated from the archival documentation and was submitted to Pedagogical library Davorin Trstenjak. Archival documentation was sorted by the international standards for the description of archival documentation and information tool was made under the title Analitički inventar Osobnog fonda HR HŠM Poljak Vladimir.
Vladimir Poljak (1920– 1998) was a teacher, pedagogue and faculty professor. He worked at the Faculty of Philosophy for thirty years; he was a member of different associations, institutions and media outside the faculty, as well as publishing councils. He received many rewards and awards for his work among which was the Life Achievement Award “Ivan Filipović”. Basic topics for scientific-research work were the questions of didactic and methodic starting points, educational system, teaching and school practice. His works were translated in many languages, and university handbook Didaktika was published in many editions (translated even in Chinese). Time range of the holdings is from 1939 to 1998, and contains manuscripts of monographs, articles, reviews, different notes, correspondence and newspaper articles collection. Following the standards of archiving the holdings were sorted according to works of V. Poljak, i.e. by the way the documents were created, therefore nine series and sixteen sub-series were created, which contain great number of documents for the history of pedagogy, and further research and advancement of education, upbringing and schools in Croatia.
