Sažetak

Bathymetric measurements with a combination of satellite positioning and echosounder are performed along the vessel trajectories, resulting in point depth values of river, lake or sea bottom. A regular mesh of values interpolated from measured data is necessary for three-dimensional models of the bottom. Spatial interpolation assumes that locations close together are more similar than locations that are far apart. In geostatistical method of kriging, weights of the influence of measurements observed at particular locations are calculated according to the value of covariance or of semivariogram, the statistical variant of distances between locations. Bathymetric measurements around the subsurface travertine barrier in the Lake Kozjak show significant trend caused by a systematic error due to the slopeness of the bottom. We used universal kriging that allows for the trend in the data. We discuss the influence of measurement errors at observed points on prediction standard errors at interpolated points.
