New Data from the Analysis of the Wood of the Prehistoric Sewn Boat of Zambratija, Istria, Croatia

Abstract

This contribution aims to present new data obtained following
the recovery and dismantling of the prehistoric boat of Zambratija
(Croatia) in 2023. The results of the analysis of new elements,
in particular rods used in the waterproofing system, will be
added to the results of the identification of wood species already
published. The possibility of observing cross-sections of each
planking strake allows for a detailed study of the morphology,
providing information about the parent tree and wood technology.
