Abstract
The paper presents the adaptation of the Goobi service within the e-Kultura – Digitisation of Cultural Heritage project, which supports the workflow of digitisation, long-term digital preservation, and publication of digital library materials. Goobi is based on open-source software originally developed in 2004 by the company Intranda, Göttingen, for use in managing digitisation workflows. Within the e-Kultura project, Goobi was used as part of the infrastructure and was additionally adapted for the creation of information packages, long-term preservation, and the publication of digital content. The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) took part in the adaptation and development of the Goobi service to support the inclusion of libraries in the e-Kultura project. The paper describes the adaptation of specific workflow templates and the methods for entering metadata for various types of library materials (books, newspapers, journals, etc.) within the Goobi system. It also outlines the process of long-term preservation and publication of digital library materials following the preparation of information packages, along with a description of practices and organisationalworkflows at the NSK and other libraries using the e-Kultura system. The purpose of this paper is to share experiences within the cultural heritage communityregarding the implementation of digitisation solutions established through the e-Kultura project.
