Sažetak

Rescue excavations at the Poljana Križevačka 1 site revealed the remains of a settlement dating from the end of the 2nd century BC to the 1st century AD. Based on the characteristics of material finds, primarily pottery, as well as the continued occupation of the site, the continuity of the local community at the turn of the era is argued. This paper addresses the question of the collective identity of the community in the context of pre-Roman ethnonyms, as well as the sett lement’s position within interaction networks indicated by analogies with contemporaneous sites and the site’s geographical setting.
