Sažetak
This paper analyses the novel Ne dao Bog većeg zla by Goran Tribuson through the lens of political ideologies, mythology, and memory. It builds on the theoretical frameworks of Michel Foucault and Roland Barthes, viewing the novel as a multi-layered document that transcends daily politics and provides insight into the micro-historical aspects of power and identity. Additionally, the autobiographical element of the novel is examined, along with the way in which the protagonist’s childhood is reconstructed through the narrative structure. The analysis is also based on an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates theories of memory and identity (Assmann, Appiah, Connerton, Halbwachs). The paper concludes that the novel represents a specific fusion of individual and collective memory, and that, through language and locale, it shapes a narrative framework in which fiction and historical reality intertwine.
