THE MEDIAN GROUP – FROM FRUSTRATION TO CREATIVITY

Abstract
The art of therapeutic work in the median group is rooted in dialogue, learning to communicate away from the instinctive, and searching for meaning and understanding. The primary objective of the median group is to transform the pregenital, subcultural mode of functioning, i.e. the microculture of the Oedipal, family-centric group, into the framework of its sociocultural equivalent. This article presents an excerpt from a median group session, and the understanding of group content through a theoretical lens.
