Sažetak

The paper examines the activities of the Slovenian Cultural and Educational Society Snežnik from Lovran within the context of cultural associations of the Slovenian national minority in the Republic of Croatia. The aim of the paper is to analyse the role of the Slovenian Cultural and Educational Society Snežnik in preserving language and culture, as well as its presence in the Slovenian minority press from its founding in 2005 to 2025. The methodological framework is based on a content analysis of selected periodicals (Novi odmev, Kažipot, Sopotja), which represent the primary sources of information on the Society’s activities. The analysis of the Society’s media representation indicates the highest visibility in the selected Slovenian minority periodicals during the first decade of its activity, while the number of articles declined in later years, particularly after the launch of its own publication Liburnijska priloga. The paper concludes that the minority press plays a crucial role in documenting and preserving the cultural identity of Slovenian associations in Croatia, as it not only informs the community but also safeguards its collective memory. This confirms its significance as an essential resource for scholarly research into minority cultures and identities.
