Liturgical Holdings of the Library of the Catholic Theological Faculty in Sarajevo: History and Theological Value

Sažetak
The paper presents a scholarly analysis and theological evaluation of the liturgical collection held in the Library of the Catholic Theological Faculty in Sarajevo. Following an introductory exposition of the liturgy as the source and summit of the Church’s life, the study examines the historical development and context of the liturgical materials from the 17th to the 21st century, emphasizing the continuity of the Roman rite and the presence of Eastern liturgical traditions. The central section of the article analyzes the structure and content of the collection according to types and genres of material, linguistic and paleographic diversity, authorship and publishing representation, as well as thematic intersections between Roman and Eastern liturgical sources. Particular attention is devoted to the theological and scholarly value of the collection, its contribution to the formation of theologians, and the preservation of ecclesial memory. The concluding section outlines perspectives for the future development of the collection, recommending its enrichment with older, musical, and Eastern-liturgical materials, along with interdisciplinary enhancement. Thus, the collection is affirmed as a locus theologicus - a space where faith, history, and scholarship converge in service of liturgical theology.
