Abstract

This article will present a graphic and orthographic analysis of the first part of the printed booklet Put krixa Isukarstova od dvora Pilatova do vark Calvaria: sʼ mnoghim druhim molitvam. It is a booklet printed in Split in 1839, which is kept in the Marko Marulić City Library in Split. In the first part of the work, the graphemes with which the author of the booklet records individual phonemes will be described, along with examples from the text. In the following, the spelling rules used by the author will be presented (punctuation marks, compound and uncompounded writing of words, use of abbreviations, writing of capital and small initial letters). The aim of the paper is to determine which script and spelling rules the author from Split used in the middle of the 19th century. The aforementioned booklet is a valuable source for further philological and linguistic research.
