Review and Development of the Proceedings of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences and Analysis of Published Papers

Proceedings is a publication that includes works by various authors under a single title, and is sometimes associated with the organization of congresses, conferences and meetings. The need to publish and encourage professional and scientific works by colleagues from various scientific fields resulted in the launch of the Proceedings of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences. The aim of this paper is to present its importance and to explore its characteristics and development over the years. The publishing activity of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences, as a support to scientific and professional communication, encourages and motivates the wider scientific community to research and engage in scientific research processes between institutions, but also outside of academic frameworks. Under its auspices, since 2011, proceedings have been published at the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences as written media of communication within the academic community as well as the extracurricular community. What the anthologies contain is knowledge from numerous scientific fields created by the integration of relevant information with the aim of discovering new knowledge. This is what science itself serves. This paper will provide a review of the publications published in the period from 2011 to 2013 and the one from 2019, when the last edition of the Proceedings of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences was printed. The typology of papers and the frequency of publication of a particular type of paper, authorship in relation to the number and type of articles and the relationship of references used with regard to the language area will be analyzed. The paper also presented new possibilities and improvements in terms of publishing activities at the Karlovac Polytechnic, which includes the implementation of a magazine on a new medium with the aim of a simpler and more efficient access to knowledge and digital content.
