Cultural Programmes of "Petar Preradović" Public Library in Bjelovar and their Evaluation (2021 – 2024)

Sažetak
This paper presents the results of a study on user satisfaction with cultural programmes and workshops at the “Petar Preradović” Public Library in Bjelovar in the period from 2021 to 2024. The aim of the study was to determine the extent to which the library meets the cultural needs of its users and how satisfied they are with the offer and implementation of cultural programmes. In this research, a library evaluation was carried out, in which users were encouraged to complete evaluation forms when attending cultural programmes. The instrument applied in the research was an anonymous evaluation questionnaire, and the survey was conducted across 122 programmes over a four-year period (2021–2024). During that period, 122 programmes were implemented at the “Petar Preradović” Public Library in Bjelovar, each of which included an evaluation component, with a total of 3,941 visitors. Some of these programmes will be presented in this paper. A total of 2,399 evaluation forms were completed by participants, which represents 60.87% of all visitors. The results of this study are based on quantitative methodology. The objectives of the research were to determine whether the “Petar Preradović” Public Library provides a quality service in organising and delivering cultural programmes, to highlight the importance of a culture of evaluation in libraries, and to understand how this aspect of the library’s operations could, where necessary, be improved in the future.
