Sažetak

SUMMARY
Following a passage from Tin Ujević's essay “Oroz pred Endimnionom”, the author discusses the importance of a mother tongue in general, and especially the Kajkavian dialect. He finds the linguistic and philosophical encouragement for this in the papers of Wilhelm von Humboldt, Johann Gottfried Herder, Johann Leo Weisgerber and Hans-George Gadamer. The thesis on the correlation of Kajkavian tongues with linguistic origins is stressed, the relationship between tone and meaning, the essential role of listening, reading out loud and the art of reciting which is especially important for the reception of Kajkavian poetry.
