Legacies of the Cepelić and Pinterović families in the library of the Faculty of law in Osijek

Abstract
Purpose. This paper aims to show the (un)recognition of legacies in libraries, the professional public and the community, with a special emphasis on academic libraries.
Approach/methodology/design. The review and systematization of family legacies provided data for further research and for presentation to the interested public.
Results. The research established a defined number of family legacies that were acquired and incorporated into the collection, along with a detailed analysis of their structure by professional fields, languages, usage, and deaccessions. These findings will serve as a foundation for the project to digitize historic and valuable materials.
Social significance. During the preparation of the paper, we came across information about parts of the researched legacies held in other heritage institutions. This provides a basis for creating a shared platform and/or virtual database of these family legacies and serves as a good starting point for fostering local-level collaboration.
Originality/value. The segments of the Pinterović and Cepelić family legacies held in Library provide valuable insight into their professional activities and intellectual interests, offering potential contributions to the cultural history of Osijek and Slavonia. Such materials may attract the interest of both librarians and scholars of law.
