Sažetak
Bullying is intentional, repeated aggressive behaviour that involves negative, unwanted actions, and is directed mainly toward weaker individuals who cannot defend themselves. This short review paper explores the relationship between peer bullying and the occurrence of depressive and anxiety disorders. Analysing available studies from different parts of the world, published in the last ten years, different forms of peer bullying and their impact on mental health are identified. The research results show that bullying is associated with an increase in anxiety and depressive symptoms in people who suffer violence, regardless of the area, but the dynamic itself depends on a number of social and socioeconomic factors, which emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the prevention and early intervention.
