Sažetak
This article provides an analysis of the activities of the philosopher Stjepan Zimmermann at the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (25 April 1921 - 12 July 1941) and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (12 July 1941 - 25 April 1946). This subject has not yet been explored by scholars of Zimmermann's life and work. The paper commences with a concise discourse on the genesis and evolution of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts, its dissolution and subsequent re-establishment. The subsequent sections of the paper present Zimmermann's activities within the Academy, commencing with his election as an academician and continuing with his contributions to the various committees, his authorship of reports on new corresponding members, his lectures at the Academy, and his involvement in the publication process. His thoughts on changing the name of the Academy are briefly discussed at the end of the paper. The conclusion drawn from this analysis is that Zimmermann's involvement was prolific, though he never occupied a position of authority within the institution.
