Sažetak
Krsto Stošić (1884-1944) was a Catholic priest, cultural activist and writer from Šibenik, Croatia. Thanks to his dedicated work, he became a leading figure in the public and cultural life of his city in the first half of the twentieth century. At the time when very few people were interested in cultural heritage, he contributed greatly to its protection and preservation. He collected many valuable documents, books, works of art and other important objects and opened the first city museum. At that time, he was also the commissioner of the Conservation Office for Šibenik. He spent a lot of time in researching and writing about the history of Šibenik. The result of this diligent work is an extensive manuscript that he did not manage to publish during his lifetime. He left his valuable manuscripts to the museum. Among them there is a very significant manuscript collection named The churches of Šibenik. The history of all the churches and monasteries in the city is recorded there. The author presents information about the founding and construction of these buildings, their history, priests and monks, works of art, properties and legacies, fraternities and their rules and customs. This is a very important source for further study of the history of Šibenik, and its author has made an immeasurable contribution to that study.
