Sažetak
The paper provides an analysis of the key
role of management consulting in the optimization of
financing small and medium enterprises from European
Union funds in the Republic of Croatia. The research
subject encompasses challenges faced by SMEs upon
accessing sources of finance and opportunities offered
by management consulting in obtaining resources
from European funds. The purpose of the paper is to
provide a detailed research into the contribution of
management consulting to the enhancement of success
and effectiveness of financing SMEs from EU funds,
and to identify key strategies implemented thereupon.
Research methodology is based on the analysis that
offers a comprehensive insight into the management
consulting practice within the context of financing
SMEs in the Republic of Croatia. Research results
indicate a significant role of management consulting
in overcoming administrative obstacles, enhancing fi
nancial literacy and optimizing the use of EU funds.
The main contribution of the paper lies in providing an
empirical insight into specific strategies implemented
by consultants in shaping recommendations for policy
makers and SMEs aimed at a more effective utilization
of the available sources of finance.
