Abstract
Inflation represents one of the most important macroeconomic phenomena, exerting a significant impact on economic dynamics and the standard of living of the population. It directly affects the purchasing power of money, real incomes, and economic management of household finances. In this context, vulnerable groups, particularly those with lower incomes, are especially affected. In the period following the coronavirus pandemic, as well as amid intensified economic tensions among a number of countries due to wars, inflation is once again at the centre of economic debates. Supply-side constraints, combined with increased demand, lead to accelerated price growth, to which central banks must respond by tightening monetary policy and raising interest rates. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how inflation, as a key economic phenomenon, strongly influences the everyday life of the population. The emergence of inflation is a complex problem that requires a broader approach that influences people’s economic decisions. In this process, governments and central banks play an important role, as they can guide people toward more stable economic behavior. Their role is evident in managing the money supply, interest rates, and communication strategies. It is also important that policymakers take into account the possible consequences of their measures. The purpose of this is to ensure that policies are effective in combating inflation, but also fair.
