Sažetak
The research on pansy Viola × wittrockiana Gams. was carried out and the influence of PGR (plant growth retardant) daminozide on two cultivars of pansy, the multicolor 'Super Majestic Giants' and the purple 'Crystal Bowl Supreme Purple'. The plants were treated with a single spray of Alar 85 (F. John Kwizda Gesellschaft m. b. H.), in concentrations of 3000 mgl-1 (150 plants) and 5000 mgl-1 (150 plants), 45 days after sowing, in 3-5 true leaves phase. 300 plants in bioassay were split into 5 repetitions. Each combination was represented by 10 plants. The plants were bred in a glasshouse in Čakovec during two vegetative years, 2003 and 2004. The treatment with Alar did not cause statistically significant smaller plant height, diameter and number of leaves as compared to the control group. A significant difference in flower number and diameter and the number of flowers and buds per plant in the second year was caused by the cultivars' features and not by Alar.
