The paper focuses on the work done within the ICTM Study Group on
the Anthropology of Mediterranean Cultures with the aim of
presenting and discussing some approaches to the study of
"Mediterranean" music. In particular, it deals with the possible
meanings of the term "Mediterranean" in musical studies.
