This work discusses the functional transformation of the Avenue of Ljubljana in Zagreb. In the last fifty years, from a transit road on the outskirts of the city it has developed into a modern urban avenue of complex functions. The commercial functions dominate with shopping centres and hypermarkets, as well as specialised shops of cars, furniture, etc.
