Sažetak
The paper discusses the results of the study aimed to explore the interest in the
application of the information technology of the staff involved in the educational process. The
study was conducted on a sample of 187 subjects working in primary and secondary schools in
the Srednja Bosna county (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The aim of the study was to examine and
evaluate the possibilities of the school information system with respect to its use in monitoring
the work in primary and secondary schools. Furthermore, the focus of the study is to determine
the needs and possibilities of those involved in the educational process regarding the high
quality application of the information systems and new technologies. The findings indicate that
the majority of the subjects accept new technologies as a tool which helps to improve the
teaching process. The benefits of the study are believed to be numerous because the results
might justify the implementation of the system in the environment in which it was conducted.
Although the area needed for the implementation might be a possible constraint, it is expected
that the study will impact some other regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina too. The scientific
contribution is aimed at analysing the current situation, contributing therefore to the practical
value of the study.
