Sažetak

Ravni kotari with its ecological characteristics, respectively climate and relief on the shady slopes satisfy the needs of the ecological factors for growing Chinese - Japanese plums. The researches of the blossoming phenology in the experimental orchards, show that the blossoming phenology partially correspond to the blossoming of earlier types of peaches and nectarines, respectively 3 to 4 days earlier. That is why the blossoming of the economically most valuable types, like Black Gold and Black Diamond corresponds to the blossoming of the peach Mycrest (middle of March). These cultivars are interesting because they mature in July, at the height of the touristic season, when there is a great demand for this fruit. The spreading of Chinese - Japanese cultivars has not been significant, which can be attributed to problems of agronomic and pathological types. Excepting the known difficulties of adaptation of these species to the climate of Ravni kotari, there are the endemic pathogens like Xanthomonas spp. which compromises the fruit fertility and quality, and leptonecrosis which causes the decline and the death of the trees after several years of frequent appeareance, and this is not the case of the European cultivars. Unfortunately, there are few sorts from this group, mostly specie for fresh comsumption recommendable for expanded cultivation. With further reseraches on biological and economic characteristics of these cultivars, the biology of pathogens together with the introduction of new cultivars, the adequate agrotecnics and protection, will be able to stimulate the expansion of verified cultivars in Ravni kotari and the entire coastal area.
