Sažetak
The concept of Six Sigma is often credited with revolutionizing business activities of world’s biggest companies such as Motorola, General Electric etc. Improvements did not only come in the form of increased product and service quality but also in the form of total profitability enlargement. This paper offers a short description of statistical groundings that are necessary for understanding Six Sigma. The way Six Sigma really operates, concerning project selection and process improvements, is also presented. Each step of the basic DMAIC Six Sigma methodologies is described, together with explanation of roles each individual has to play according to the Six Sigma strict team hierarchy. The last part of the paper copes with only a small but most important number of Six Sigma quality management tools.
