Sažetak
The increased concentration of pollutants in the air cause serious damage in the natural ecosystem to the detriment of the quality of life. For decades now, the emergence of the emission of pollutants in the air has been identified in the countries of the European space. Thus, the first international agreement in the field of atmosphere protection, Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution, was adopted in Geneva in 1979. The intention of domestic legislation is to mitigate the emission of sulphur (S) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) to acceptable levels. On a larger scale, the mentioned pollutants appear as a result of fuel combustion. In this respect, fuel quality has a substantial impact on making the market compatible with the ecological criteria.
