Flight dynamics and dominance of the species Drepanosiphum platanoidis (Schrank, 1801) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), an important pest in urban greenery

Sažetak

The paper shows the results of an investigation into fl ight dynamics and dominance of the species of the leaf aphid Drepanosiphum platanoidis Schrank, an important pest in urban greenery. The research was carried out in the period from 1996 to 2003, using two methods: the modifi ed yellow water trap and stationary suction traps, located in Maksimir Park. From an analysis of the specimens trapped, in all years of the research a higher catch was recorded with
the use of the yellow water trap. Within fl ight, one maximum was recorded. According to the time of the fi rst and last catches of the species D. platanoidis it can be seen that the species can fl y at temperatures lower than 15ºC. With respect to its proportion in the general population in the suction trap, in 1996 D. platanoidis was designated a subdominant, in 1997 and 2000 a subrecent, and in 1998, 1999, 20001, 2002 and 2003 a recent species. With respect to its proportion in the general population in the yellow trap it was designated a eudominant species in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2003, while in 2000 and 2001 it was designated a dominant species.
