Sažetak
The paper presents wide applications of infrared thermography in different fields of human activities. The experimental part consists of investigation of garment wear comfort, where the subjects were asked to grade humidity, heat and comfort before and after moderate work activity. The experiment was carried out under the following temperatures: 23±1ºC, 26±1ºC, 29±1ºC and 32±1ºC, and with a relative air humidity of 67± 3%. The subjects were photographed after work in order to determine areas of intense sweating, which were then compared to the thermograms.
The results obtained by the subjective evaluation of heat, humidity and comfort in three different environments show that increases in temperature diminish the feeling of comfort while enhancing the sensation of heat and humidity. Sweat absorption in garment material at 32ºC was three times bigger than the one at 23ºC. Significant differences between the intensity of male and female sweating were also noted. At 32ºC the absorption measured in male subjects was 2.3 times bigger than the absorption measured in female subjects. The comparison of thermogram values with areas of visible sweat accumulation indicates changes of body temperature in these areas.
