Sažetak

In this article the author treats the subject of different
approaches to the person of Jesus Christ in modern christology,
presenting christological "models" and trends, the aim of which is to
explain and to convey the mistery of Jesus Christ, in order to bring
him closer and make him more comprehensible to the man of this
age. This so called christological pluralism has always existed in the
Church, which can also be seen in the Gospels, and was also
developing in patristic times as well as in the time of scolasticism.
The author thinks that this fact shows the creativity of christian
communities, leading always and repeatedly to contextualization of
christology and its biblically dogmatic expressions.
The main characteristic of modern christology is the christo-
logical concentration which is present in almost ali christological
trends and models. Presenting the christological models the author
discusses each of them, giving a short explanation of each and
naming some theologians - the representatives of a particular model.
So we can find the most significant names of christian theological
world, like J. Galot, R. Bultmann, P. T. de Chardin, K. Rahner, H. U.
von Balthasar, W. Kasper, and others. After that, the article briefly
presents the Ortodox christology, which is caracterized by "the model
of glory", and the Lutheran christology, the basic characteristic of
which is "the model of cross". Throughout history and today many
individuals, groups and movements, not belonging to christian world
or to christian churches, have been interested in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, the author also speaks about the so called "outside
christology", i.e. he reports on their comprehension of Christ. He sets
out what and how some writers of contemporary literature and
philosophy are writing about him (and what the representatives of
some other world religions think about him). In any case, the author
concludes, the diversity of approaches to Jesus Christ is the sign of
his importance for man and mankind in general, but also an
encouragement to ponder about the riches that the person of Jesus
Christ holds.
