Sažetak
Was born on March 17, 1936 in Zagreb, Croatia. He attended and completed Elementary School there. Afterwards he left with his family for Poland, where in 1953 he obtained Certificate of Maturity in one of the most reputable high schools, named after Stefan Batory. In 1954 he commenced his studies at Szkola Glowna Gospodarstwa
Wiejskiego - SGGW- Agricultural University in Warsaw. After graduation as - Master of Zootechnical Sciences he started his work in the National Research Laboratoty of Feeds, National Institute of Animal Production in Macierzysz near Warsaw, as the head of the Section of Premixes and Biologically Active Additives/Ingredients.
Simultaneously he continued his scientific activities in that field at Agricultural Academy in Lublin, where he defended his thesis on the subject of piglets feeding and in 1983 was granted the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences. After his retirement he did not relax but was active in the transformation period initiating modernization
and development of the Polish feed industry. He was a co-founder of the Polish Association of Feed Producers and from 1995 to the end of his life he was active as a director of this Association cooperating
with international organizations, like IFIF, FEFAC, ASA and others. He especially appreciated long lasting close collaboration with KRMIVA, Zagreb. Besides his activities in the feed sector he also studied Philology at Warsaw University and in 1972 with excellent results he became a sworn interpreter of the Croatian language, and next year an official interpreter in the Court of Justice. We shall also remember Dr. Kolodziej as a friendly and warm person, always ready to help. We respect him as a man who devoted his active life to effective animal nutrition, improvement and development of modern feed industry. We shall miss him very much.
