Sažetak
Analyses of the literary-historical, (paleo)grafic, orthographic and linguistic characteristics of the medieval Croatian version of Planctus Mariae from the hymn-book (Osorsko-hvarska pjesmarica) from 1533 are provided in the paper. Its place in the development of medieval Croatian drama is discussed. Linguistic characteristics of the text confirm its provenience from the south-chakavian island Hvar (and not from the north-chakavian island Cres as can be assumed from the title of the hymn-book): it is written in Old Croatian literary language, based on the South-Chakavian (Ikavian) dialect (i-reflection of /ě/ in the the lexical and grammatical morphemes as well as on the absolute ending of the world, metathese in the old consonant group vs-, syllabic /l./ consequently reflected to /u/, devocalized syllabic /r./, interrogative pronoun gdi etc.).
