Critical Thinking in the Process of Education and the Project Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking

Sažetak
In the process of education we develop understanding and reach conclusions by means of critical thinking. That is why we should enable students to develop critical thinking and thus contribute to the formation of independent, active, creative and responsible individuals who will be able to find the way to their goals by means of critical thinking. They will be able to link new knowledge to the familiar one, estimate its value and develop distinctive learning schemes. They will have an active role in the educational process.
The project Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking was started in the last school year in Slovenia. Its implementation, which gives importance to the development of critical thinking, has shown positive results in teachers and students. It confirmed that teacher and student have become partners in the educational process.
