Structural-geomorphological Characteristics and Morphotectogenetic Evolution Model of the Učka Mountain Range (Croatia)
Darko Mihljević
Sažetak
The paper elaborates and interpretes the cause of merional extension of the Učka mountain ridge in contrast to the Dinaric extension of the most mountain ridges and massifs within the mountain group of the Outher Dinarides. The causes of a step – like valleys profile, formed along the eastern slopes of the Učka mountain range, has been explained. So called ''domino'' structures have been recognized, investigated and expounded. A relief relationship within the mountain range of the Central and North Učka has been interpreted, and successively its traced a development of the Mošćenička Draga and the Lovranska Draga, tectonic semi – window within wich the relief depression of the brook Rečina has been shaped. On basis of the displayed structural – geomorphological relationship, a morphotectogenetic and kinematic model related to the evolution of the wider area of the Učka mountain range has been made.
