Sažetak

The garden weed flora of Plešivica hills was explored during two vegetation seasons (2002, 2003) at 7 locations. 81 taxa of garden weed flora were observed that belonged to 27 families. The most dominant families were Asteraceae and Poaceae which reflects the influence of indigenous flora and biological and ecological characteristics of these families. It is interesting to point out the presence of a few new invasive and very noxious species like Ambrosia artemisiifolia L., Conyza canadensis (L.) Cronq.,
Erigeron annuus (L.)Pers., Galinsoga ciliata (Raffin) S.F.Blake and G.
parviflora Cav. in some researched gardens of Plešivica hills.
The majorities of the investigated gardens belonged to old households and were not adequately taken care of. Less weeding, hoeing and mowing enable the gradual domination of the perennial herbaceous plants and hemicryphytes. Most of the species were of the Euroasian origin and widespread cosmopolites.
