Abstract
Successful knowledge transfer is one of the basic prerequisites for learning from past events in any enterprise, not excluding enterprises with a risk of major accident. Knowledge can take different forms - tacit and explicit knowledge. In order to apply effective procedures for the transfer of this knowledge, it is necessary to first identify the forms of knowledge that are shared in the organization. Only then can appropriate procedures be applied. In the past, systems for learning from incidents, including support for knowledge sharing, have been developed by various organizations and scientific groups. The issue of identifying forms of knowledge transfer and then applying appropriate methods for sharing this knowledge has not been addressed in much detail. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate on a hypothetical example of the incident the identification of forms of knowledge that can be shared within a Lessons Learned from Incident (LFI) system. A hypothetical example is used as a case study. The contribution of the article is the description of knowledge transfer on a specific example, both explicit and tacit knowledge. The case study can be used as an example of how to transfer knowledge and which methods could be used to streamline accident learning systems.
