PYRAMIDAL CUSPS FROM ASSERIA

Abstract
During 2006, two new anepigraphic examples of Roman funerary sculpture untypical for Dalmatia were discovered at Asseria.
The first was used as spolia in the third buttress of the northwestern expanse of the city walls, immured into its northern corner (Fig. 1). During excavation in front of the buttress and lowering the surface to a lower level, it was decided to remove it and replace it with ordinary stone. After one large and fifteen small fragments were joined together, the following dimensions could be measured: height more than 1.35 m, width 1.13, and thickness 0.26 m (Fig. 2). [...]
