Cultural Activity as a Central Function: the Example of Croatia

Abstract

The features of cultural activities – their gravitational range, degree of basic attributes or 'exportation', demand in relation to the market, the potential number of consumers of cultural 'products' – are considerd in this paper. An analysis of the degree of hierarchy and concentration of cultural of cultural centers, their mutual influences and the topological features of the network of cultural centers is used in an attempt to show how specific features of cultural activities influence the formation of specific systems of cultural centers.
