Abstract

Monitoring of Cetoniinae beetles was conducted during the 2009
growing season in Zagreb at the Jazbina scientific and educational station. The population dynamics of the species Oxythyrea funesta, Cetonia aurata aurata, Potosia cuprea obscura, Epicometis hirta and Oxythyrea funesta was studied using the traps Csalomon ® VARb3.
Analysis of the specimens caught established the dominance of
Epicometis hirta, followed by Cetonia aurata aurata and Oxythyrea funesta, while the species Potosia cuprea obscura was the least dominant. According to the attractiveness of Csalomon ® VARb3 color traps, the study showed significant catch of species C. aurata aurata on blue and yellow – blue traps and significant catch of species O. funesta on fluorescent yellow trap.
For the species E. hirta and P. cuprea obscura there were no significant differences in number of specimen caught due to the color of the traps.
