Abstract
One of the requirements of modern society is to have modern,
all-day schools. Finally, teachers will realize that project. Therefore, this paper, besides considering the theoretical aspect of all-day school, also presents the results of a survey. The survey was conducted using the questionnaire method on a sample of 187 responders, all teachers in primary schools, in Varaždin
County. In the paper, we divided the subject “social competence of teachers” on five elements. Those elements are: empathy, optimism and sense of humor, communication skills, flexibility and leadership style. Teachers, the responders to the questionnaire, estimated those elements. The results showed that different groups of teachers estimate those elements differently. These results can be
used as one of the many starting points for the improvement and development of key competencies required by every teacher working in all-day school education system.
