Abstract


The paper is on the visual artistic interpretations of the collection of poems entitled "Balade Petrice Kerempuha" by Miroslav Krleža. The illustrations are divided into several theme subjects, i.e. several approaches to The Ballads, while the ones describing certain historical
styles and those showing torture scenes are given most attention. Also, several other approaches to The Ballads are given: emphasis put on destruction in war and the abstract approach.
