Abstract

With his research work on literature and history Zvonimir Bartolić has indebted Croats living in Hungary and Austria. He dedicated his attention to Croats in Hungary, especially the Pomurje Croats and West Hungarian Croats, i.e. Burgenland Croats who named themselves as such following the year 1921. As this is a large body of literature, I will draw more attention to Bartolić's studies of cultural heritage, history and ethnical nationality of Prekomurje or Pomurje Croats. They were in the domain of his primary interest – and that was his native Međimurje, by belonging to this part of Croatia’s ethnic complex in the linguistic, cultural, ecclestiastical and identity entirety
