Abstract

The homotopy analysis method (HAM) as a new technique which is powerful and easy-to-use, is applied to solve heat transfer problems. In this paper, we use HAM for heat transfer conductivity equation with variable properties which may contain highly nonlinear terms.‏‏‏‏‏‏‏The obtained results are also compared with the Adomian decomposition method (ADM). The homotopy analysis method contains the auxiliary parameter ħ, which provides us with a simple way to adjust and control the convergence region of solution series.
