Abstract

This paper describes the defi nition of welfare and fi ve freedoms without which there is no satisfying animal welfare. It was described
the accommodation and housing of horses, housing systems, on pastures and in barns, and their advantages or disadvantages. These
are the minimum requirements of horses for food and water, food types and methods of feeding, watering and storage.
