Abstract
The influence of the applied procedures in reduction of number of microorganisms and the results of chicks hatching, using different disinfectants, concentration and exposure time. Following disinfectants were used: Virkon® S 0.5% and 1%; Preventol® 0.5% and 1%; Bigvasan 0.4% and 0.5%; Virocid® 0.15% and 0.25%; Halamid® 0.4% and Formaldehyd (21ml formalin 40% + 21 ml water + 17 g hipermangan), with exposition time of 15 minutes, except for formaldehyde, where exposition time was 30 minutes. One group of hatching eggs was sanitary treated in a poultry house right after collection, and a second group of hatching eggs was sanitary treated in a poultry house and before setting in a hatchery. Hatching eggs which were twice sanitary treated gave better hatching results than hatching eggs which were sanitary treated only once. Best hatching results were achieved at sanitary treated hatching eggs in poultry house and hatchery with formaldehyde steaming. This way of treatment is still the best choice despite of prohibition of using formaldehyde in some countries. Disinfectants 1% Virkon® and 0.4% Halamid® in recommended concentrations to the hatching results can be an alternative for formaldehyde.
