AGROTOURISM SUPPLY OF ZAGREB COUNTY: LIMITATIONS AND POSSIBILITIES

Abstract

Agritourism is a term of recent date. It is used form the end of twentieth century. It includes a supply of accommodation and meals services, also includes a rural environment and the economic, cultural and other area activity. Supply of agritourism services in the Zagreb County is still, considering its opportunities, insufficiently developed, but currently meets the demand of residents of Zagreb. Zagreb County has a rich cultural, traditional and environmental predisposition for development of agritourism, and also good transport links to urban centers. The paper explores the agritourism services supply of the Zagreb County, and on this basis the main constraints and opportunities for future development. There were 102 randomly selected family farms as a potential provider of agritourism services for the conducted study. Regardless of the existing and expected problems that the family farms are facing, research has shown that there is an interest to engage in agritourism. The problem is that demand site does not know the benefits of agritourism enough.
