Abstract
The main goal of modeling the growth is to complement existing knowledge based on research on growth, as well as possible approaches to the study. Modeling is a necessary part of the scientific method, which allows the results of biological experiments to be later incorporated into the economic framework. In addition, the growth model is used in dynamic programming routine, in which the most cost-effective feeding strategies during each stage of growth of animals and the optimum time of slaughter are determined. Different curves, especially from the family of exponential curves have been successfully used in describing the growth of animals as a function of time. Although the biological sense is regarded as too simplistic, much of the mathematical model is successfully used to reliably predict and compare the growth of domestic animals. In the world various technologies and procedures are developing that enable a faster and cheaper evaluation of the composition and characteristics of the carcass. By analysis of different methods of assessment of growth characteristics and carcass composition different results are obtained. Constant research on growth and growth characteristics is therefore recommended, particularly in relation to lean pigs.
