Abstract

The paper will present some facts from social, political and cultural life and development within the Military Border, of Varaždin and Bjelovar military commune in particular, as well as individual roles of some distinguished people (Ladislav Škrobot, Ivan Švear and Petar Preradović) who in those pre-Enlightenment era invested their efforts and work in helping Varaždin Military Border be involved with equal opportunities in cultural and social growth of the then Tri Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonnia and Dalmatia.
