Abstract

As a response to the challenges of the 21st century, the importance of
affirmation of mutual understanding and acceptance has been recognized in modern
democratic societies. In order to achieve this task successfully, the importance of the
implementation of the intercultural education as a guideline for the entire curriculum
and everyday life of schools is highlighted, where all the participants of the
educational process play an important role.This paper stresses the role of the whole-school community in the
implementation of intercultural education. Based on the view according to which
characteristics of the school community at the same time represent an instrument of
its development, the issue of co-construction approach to the development of
intercultural curriculum is discussed.
